The Pitt Artists' Pastels with oil-free pastel leads are particularly good for adding detail, which is not easy with traditional pastel chalks. Another benefit of the Pitt Artists' Pastels is the light and clean application, creating significantly less dust during use than with traditional pastel chalks. 

Pitt pastels also have an extremely compact lead, which doesn't wear down as quickly and with a rich pigmentation that is perfect for linear and large-scale work, as well as smudging and mixing to fine colour gradations. Particular focus was placed on subdued shades and earth colours in this product range, which have a particular importance in the field of pastel drawing.
